Free CLE Seminar: Wireless, No-Charge Westlaw at Justice Center - Postponed Due to Heavy Snow, New Date TBA
The Warren County Law Library, in conjunction with Westlaw/Thomson Reuters, will present a free one hour CLE program on March 27 at the Justice Center to demonstrate new wireless research capabilities available at the Justice Center. The March 4 date for the event was cancelled after a winter storm.
The event will be in Circuit Courtroom B at Noon. Wireless access to Westlaw in the Justice Center via the Bar's Wi-Fir Network, will be demonstrated. The event is held is in conjunction with a recent move by the Warren County Law Library Board to add significantly more content to its Westlaw subscription. According to the Board, the subscription plan rivals those available in many private law firms, and it's available at no charge to users in the Justice Center.
A new Westlaw user interface is said to be more accessible than before, and the training will demonstrate the simplified approach. From a "OneBox" at the top of the screen, you can type in a citation, run a search query, or find a database. It has a Google-like feel. Attendants will be provided with instructions for wirelessly accessing Westlaw at the Justice Center.
.
It's a "brown bag" style event, so bring your lunch if you wish. There will be no sales pitch, only targeted instruction about the new service. Please direct any questions to Warren County Law Library Board member Ryan Reed at ryan@walterhawkins.com.
