Notice Issued Concerning Judicial Vacancy
The Kentucky Supreme Court has issued a Notice Concerning Vacancy in the judicial office held by the late Margaret Huddleston. The notice puts in motion a process to fill the remainder of Huddleston's term as judge of the Division III Family Court in the 8th Circuit.
Eligibility requirements are three-fold: that the applicant be a U. S. citizen; a resident of both the Commonwealth of Kentucky and the 8th district for two years next preceding taking office; and licensure to practice law in Kentucky for at least eight years.
The notice requires those desiring consideration for the appointment, or those desiring to recommend a person for the appointment, to notify the Judicial Nominating Commission by Feb. 14. A questionnaire must be completed and submitted by Feb. 20.
