Circuit Clerk Office Changes Operating Hours
The Warren Circuit Court Clerk’s office will change its business hours effective Monday, July 1, 2013. New hours of operation will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The new hours move up the opening and closing times by 30 minutes.
The Driver’s License department will have the same hours except for the first and third Tuesday of each month, when it will remain open until 5:00 p.m.
"This decision comes after much deliberation. Court dockets will not be affected by this change, and business will be conducted as usual,' said Circuit Clerk Brandi Duvall. She noted that about two-thirds of Circuit Clerk offices in the state already have the 8:00 to 4:00 schedule, including Edmonson, Simpson, Butler, Monroe, Metcalfe, Cumberland, Hart and Daviess Counties.
Employees will get a 30-minute lunch break, allowing the office to be adequately staffed during peak hours between 11:00 and 1:00.
Duvall said the change will allow staff an extra 30 minutes of time to attend to personal matters after work.
"While it may not seem like much to some, it is invaluable to a group of hard working individuals who do not receive the recognition or pay deserved for their vital role in our local court system and who have not received a raise in five years," Duvall said.
