Local Bar Wins Statewide Law Day Award
The Kentucky Bar Association sponsors a Law Day Competition Award for the annual event, and the Bowling Green-Warren County Bar Association was chosen the best in the state.
The local bar won first place in the large bar category. A congratulatory letter was mailed by the KBA to Bar President Aaron Smith on June 7.
The local bar will be honored at the annual KBA Membership Awards Luncheon in Louisville on June 21 at the Galt House. Gailen Bridges, the KBA's Law Day Chair, will present an award to the Bowling Green-Warren County Bar.
Bowling Green's Law Day, whose theme was "Realizing the Dream," was held on May 7 at the Capitol Arts Center.
Federal Court of Appeals Judge Danny Boggs was the keynote speaker. Other highlights of the program included the annual three awards given to members of the Bar who have distinguished themselves: Matthew P. Cook (Gwenyth Davis Outstanding Public Service Award), Frank Hampton Moore, Jr. (Pro-Bono Publico Award) and Ray Buckberry (William H. Natcher Award).
Warren County Attorney Amy Milliken once again presided over the portion of the program aimed at youth in the community. The bar's annual canned food drive, wrapped up just before Law Day, was organized by Lindsay Hinton. Reynolds, Johnston, Hinton & Pepper won the large firm division, and Poole, Kimble and Deeb won the small firm division.
The day's events wrapped up with lunch at 440 Main restaurant, sponsored by the bar.
